17x22, issue 2: status
poster publication
17x22 is a poster publication that intends to look at hidden and lost aspects of language — ‘fragments’ that have lost meaning over time (or that have taken on new meaning). Each issue of 17x22 uses a different word or concept as a starting point. The second issue is dedicated to the idea of 'status', in particular the Facebook Status Update, small snippets of day to day life and mindset, they form a piecemeal narrative of people loosely connected to me: status as short story. These are extracts from my collection of status updates over the last few years of having a Facebook profile. The primary text is generated with a DrawBot program I wrote and based on a flexible letter model in which every aspect of the letters are variable (thanks to Just van Rossum and Ondrej Jób for all the help).
